IMTS will take an existing machine carcass, re-engineer all areas to include a new, full function CNC control and provide our customers with the equivalent of a brand new CNC machine.
As well as new controls, a retrofit project can include recirculating ball screws, refurbishing slide and guide ways and fitting low-friction slideway material to acheive faster rapid feedrates.
Old hydraulics will be replaced with ball screws and IMTS will design a new control panel incorporating CNC control, electrical interface components such as drives, relays etc.
The cost of a retrofit can vary considerably, depending upon the amount of work necessary, the choice of system, the type and size of motor drives etc.
Savings can be up to one third, in some cases up to fifty percent of the cost of a new machine.
The machine is designed to manufacture your own specific components.
IMTS offer a design and build service, working with clients to achieve the latest technological solutions to production problems.
We have a great deal of experience with retrofitting Fanuc, Num, and Siemens controls into rebuilt grinding machines.
